Book Launch: IGoli/EGoli

Sunday, September 15th

Please join us to celebrate the publication of IGoli EGoli by Calgary-born researcher and poet, Salimah Valiani, (Botsotso Publishing): an afternoon of reading and discussion. Books will be available for sale (author signing) and light refreshments will be served.

Valiani’s new work is a poetics of urban ecology based on her nine years in Johannesburg, South Africa. Evoking similarities with other cities, as well as particularities of Johannesburg, the new poetry collection is essentially a culmination of Valiani’s 36 years of living in cities around the world—before returning to Calgary, where she is now based.
