Time Enough Book Launch
Lise Mayne, born and raised in Blackfalds, Alberta, presents her second novel of historical fiction Time Enough at the Mary C. Moore Public Library in Lacombe. Time Enough is an immigration saga loosely based on family history from the Isle of Man and the Isle of Colonsay in the early 1900’s. A mother and her young son are forced to lead their family across the ocean to Michigan to escape destitution on the Isle of Man. When tragedy strikes, the family is split apart and the son ventures into Canada, to Manitoulin Island, then Saskatchewan, and Alberta, in search of a home. This detailed and immersive historical novel will appeal to readers fascinated by the prairie history of Canada and the struggle for independence in unfamiliar lands.
