Black, White and Green All Over: A Celebration with Benny Green

It’s the 350th anniversary of the invention of the piano! And you simply cannot talk about jazz piano without mentioning Benny Green, a virtuosic, artistic and soulful storyteller. Over a 40+ year career, Benny has played with legends such as Art Blakey, Betty Carter, Freddie Hubbard, and Canada’s own Diana Krall and Oscar Peterson. A brilliant performer and a sought after mentor and educator, Jazz Messenger Benny Green is an icon. BJP is hosting two concerts that offer an intimate look at Benny’s evolving artistry and deep connection with the piano, an instrument he continues to explore with passion and purpose.
Hosted in the cozy, historic BuckingJam Palace and featuring a beautiful Yamaha grand piano, these concerts celebrate an instrument that is at the heart of our programming and the artists who bring it to life.
This concert is made possible by the generosity of our sponsors: Yamaha Canada, Admiral Law and the Estate of Oscar Peterson.
