Bellbird

Saturday, January 17th

Bellbird invites listeners into a sound world where beauty and daring coexist. This Montreal-based quartet—featuring Claire Devlin on tenor saxophone, Allison Burik on alto sax and bass clarinet, Eli Davidovici on bass, and Mili Hong on drums—crafts music that feels both grounded and exploratory. Their debut album, Root in Tandem (2023), blends the fluidity of modern jazz with the textures of folk, the tension of atonal counterpoint, and the drive of rock. The result is an immersive experience: spacious and reflective one moment, then bursting with energy and improvisational spark the next. Bellbird’s music resonates with audiences who crave artistry that challenges convention while remaining deeply human and emotionally alive.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
