Alexandra Whittingham

Friday, September 19th

In recent years Alexandra Whittingham has emerged as one of the leading young classical guitar players, gaining recognition both in her native UK and internationally. My European Journey, her first album, was described as “a superb debut” by BBC Music Magazine and led to her being chosen as one of Classic FM’s ‘Rising Star’ artists of 2022. The recording displays her passion for Romantic period guitar music and her interest in bringing lesser-known composers into the spotlight. Very recently, she signed an exclusive contract with Decca Classics, who will release her album, Letters from Paris, in the fall. Online, Alexandra has a large community of fans worldwide, with over fifty million views of her recorded performances. Presented by the Edmonton Classical Guitar Society.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
