Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Meeting

Thursday, October 30th
The Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund is worth over 27 billion dollars.  The Standing Committee on the Heritage Fund invites you to learn more about it – by attending the Thursday, October 30th, 6 PM meeting at the Queen Elizabeth Two building, in Edmonton, watching Assembly TV, or going online.
The Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund.  Your fund, your future.

The Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund was created in 1976 with savings from Alberta’s nonrenewable resources. It is Alberta’s main long-term savings account. For almost 50 years the Fund has been invested, with the aim to deliver the greatest financial returns for Alberta. The Fund is required to keep pace with inflation by retaining a portion of its net income every year. Historically, additional income earned by the Fund has been transferred to the province’s main operating fund, the General Revenue Fund, and used to diversify the economy and meet current needs. Since its inception it has contributed more than $45.8 billion to support spending in areas such as health care, education, infrastructure and social programs. In March 2023, the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund Act was amended to allow additional income earned by the Heritage Fund to be retained in the Fund. This change contributed to record growth of the Fund in 2023-24. For more information about the Fund, including copies of its most recent quarterly and annual reports, visit Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
