A Quiet Brass Christmas

Sunday, December 10th

A (mostly) Quiet Brass Christmas features five hundred years of melody!

Indulge in the sounds of the season as Foothills Brass presents their seasonal favourites of gentle tunes that ring effortlessly in the exquisite acoustics of Scarboro United Church. The concert also features Kat Hammer on the guitar, as well as its Renaissance counterparts, the lute, and theorbo.

You’ll enjoy a variety of music, from the timeless plainchant of “O Come, Emmanuel” to the serene atmosphere of “Silent Night”, from the Appalachians’ “I Wonder As I Wander”, to quietly jazzy versions of “Winter Wonderland” and “O Christmas Tree”.

Also enjoy a festive celebration featuring familiar carols, where your song requests are encouraged, and also to participate by singing along or softly humming along with the melodies!

A Quiet Brass Christmas will take place on at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Scarboro United Church (134 Scarboro Avenue SW, Calgary).

Tickets are $30 (general) / $20 (students/seniors) and are available online through showpass.com, by calling (403) 255-9368, or at the door.

———————————————————————————-

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
