A Calgary favourite! “A Luminous New Year’s Eve” returns again this year with the choir singing a stunning array of unaccompanied works that will echo through the hall in reflection and celebration.
Join Calgary’s professional chamber choir, Luminous Voices, in bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new with a night of sublime music and luminous festivities.
“A Luminous New Year’s Eve” features a diverse repertoire that includes works by Mendelssohn, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, Rutavaara, and the innovative Bobby McFerrin, among other luminaries of the classical and contemporary music world. Also highlighting the evening are two captivating compositions: “Rise Up, My Love” by Laura Hawley and “I am the Rose of Sharon” by Ivo Antognini, both featured in their newly released album, Ispiciwin.
And what’s better than spending New Year’s Eve listening to beautiful choral music? Admission to this concert includes chocolates and sparkling wine to top off an indulgent evening of choral music!
“A Luminous New Year’s Eve” will take place on Sunday, December 31, 2023 from 7:30 – 10 p.m. at the Bella Concert Hall, Mount Royal University.
