A Circle of Songs

Saturday, October 25th

Carolyn Harley: As the host, I am loving the opportunity to share the stage with amazing song writer/performer/recording artists.
I am enjoying finding songs from my catalogue to bring forward including my YYC Nominated Folk recording My Alberta Home!
Some of my songs in the last Circle of Songs were the very first time I had performed them in public!

Jay Weber is singer-songwriter from Diamond Valley, Alberta, crafting original folk music rooted in the spirit of the prairies and foothills.
Drawing from the same influences that shape his work with his duo Wheels – artists like Steve Earle, John Price, Neil Young, and Bob Dylan.
Weber’s songs carry the grit of outlaw country, the heart of folk and the drive of bluegrass!

Corry Ullan is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has been a vibrant presence on the Calgary music scene for nearly 25 years.
Her musical journey began at age six with piano, later expanding to guitar, banjo and bass.
Over the years she has played with bands including Nothing But Trouble, The Backyard Betties and New Street and since 2008 she has been a member of the beloved Calgary group Magnolia Buckskin.
Known for her rich harmonies and versatility, she is a sought-after collaborator, lending her artist across genres. She is also a dedicated music educator teaching piano, guitar and banjo.

The CKUA Events Calendar is a listing of music, arts, and culture happenings for the whole province. It is a terrific resource that CKUA offers to the community, to share details about concerts, gallery openings, plays, and films.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we'd love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.

Need to change or update your submitted event?

Email details to feedback@ckua.com and the CKUA team of calendar volunteers will do the rest.
