October 17 – Red Carpet Gala
Alberta filmmakers take centre stage at the Edmonton Short Film Festival’s signature Red Carpet Gala.
Join us for an evening dedicated to short films created by filmmakers from across the province. From emerging voices to established creatives, the Gala showcases the talent, range and originality of Alberta’s independent film community.
And it’s more than a screening. Walk the red carpet, meet filmmakers and industry professionals, make new connections and celebrate Alberta film on the big screen in downtown Edmonton.
October 18 – Long Shorts/International
On October 18, ESFF expands the screen beyond Alberta with Long Shorts, featuring Canadian and international films from filmmakers around the world.
Discover films you may not otherwise have the chance to see, from Canadian voices to international perspectives and filmmaking styles from across the globe.
Whether you’re a filmmaker, film lover, industry professional or simply curious about independent cinema, the Edmonton Short Film Festival invites you to join us for two nights of stories that entertain, challenge, connect and inspire.

Please note that due to the amount of listings, we publish events that focus on music, arts, or culture. While we’d love to publish all submitted items, the sheer number of events means that we sometimes have to decline submissions.
