MacEwan Jazz Combo Chamber Jazz Concert
On March 16th, the MacEwan Music Department presents the newly formed Chamber Jazz Ensemble with the Jazz Combo 1 group. A reception is held after the event, show opens at 2 pm.
The MacEwan Chamber Jazz Ensemble is a newly formed group within the music department for the 2024-25 season. Jazz Combo 1 is an exciting ensemble of performance majors from MacEwan University, dedicated to exploring and performing the diverse world of jazz music. Chamber Jazz groups sit halfway between a big band and a small jazz combo.
Chamber Jazz group they will play a wide range of music from the jazz repertoire featuring compositions by jazz giants Freddie Hubbard, Dizzy Gillespie, and features arrangements by MacEwans own students, Aiden Collins-Cruickshank and Keelyn Wilson. Jazz Combo 1 brings energy and creativity to a wide range of jazz styles, from classic swing to Latin grooves, backbeat jazz, and even African world music. There will be door prizes given out after the show, donated by MacEwan and a local business.
