CKUA 50/50 Raffle – Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility

Q: Who can buy tickets?
A: According to the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) regulation, all Alberta residents who are 18 years old or above are eligible to buy raffle tickets.

Q: Can I buy raffle tickets on behalf of someone, or gift it to someone?
A: No, all raffle tickets are non-transferable.

Q: Where can I buy raffle tickets?
A: Raffle tickets can only be purchased online here.

Ticket Troubleshooting

Q: I am receiving an error at checkout, but my credit card number is correct. What is wrong?
A: There are a few reasons your transaction might not be working, here are some common issues:

• The mailing address postal code does not match the credit card’s postal code
• The email/ information entered is incomplete
• The credit card is not updated with your phone or browser’s autofill
• Location services are not turned on in your phone/browser settings
• Your browser’s cache or history has not been cleared in some time
• You are not physically located in Alberta at the time of ticket purchase

Q: How do I correct an order that is already submitted but my contact information is not correct?
A: You can contact 5050raffle@ckua.com or 780-428-7595 and we can ensure your details are up to date, so you do not miss our call if you are the lucky winner!

Q: How do I receive assistance with purchasing a ticket?

Payment

Q: What are the payment methods?
A: Credit Card, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Debit, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay

Q: Why was my card charged even though the ticket purchase didn’t go through?
A: This is most likely a pending charge rather than a completed payment. Pending charges may appear temporarily on your statement but typically clear within 1–2 business days. To avoid duplicate charges, please do not resubmit the transaction multiple times.

Q: Can I refund tickets?
A: All tickets are non-refundable. If a minor purchases a ticket, that ticket will be deemed void and refunded.

Q: Can I get a charitable tax receipt?
A: No, raffle ticket purchases do not qualify for a tax receipt under Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) as well as Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations. You can donate through CKUA’s website here to qualify for a charitable tax receipt: Make A One-Time Donation – CKUA Radio Foundation

Ticket

Q: What is the ticket price?
A: Regular Ticket: $10.00 for 1 raffle number
Package 1: $25.00 for 5 raffle numbers
Package 2: $50.00 for 25 raffle numbers
Package 3: $100.00 for 100 raffle numbers

 Q: How many tickets can I buy?
A: There is no limitation on buying tickets. You can buy tickets as many as you want!

Q: How do I find out the current jackpot total?
A: You can visit the raffle’s jackpot on CKUA’s website here.

 Q: I bought tickets but didn’t receive an email. What should I do?
A:  Tickets are sent automatically. If you haven’t received them, please check your spam or junk folders. The email address that your tickets will be received from is norelpy@tickets.rafflebox.org, check your spam or junk folder, as the ticket email may have been filtered there. If you still can’t locate your email or entered your email incorrectly, please contact CKUA by emailing 5050raffle@ckua.com.  We will be happy to help look up your purchase and resend your tickets by email if necessary.

 Q: Can CKUA assist with my ticket or payment?
A: CKUA can help look up orders and resend tickets if needed. However, we cannot take payments or complete purchases on your behalf. All purchases must be made directly by the individual while physically in Alberta.

Q: How is the winner selected? How is the winner contacted?
A: Winners are selected using a random number generator in Rafflebox that randomly selects one ticket number out of all purchased in the draw. The winner is contacted by phone on the day of the draw. Results are also announced on-air and posted at ckua.com shortly afterward.
