Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra launches 65th season

Interview

The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra‘s 65th season is a jaw-dropper.

Just announced last week, the 2020/2021 season is bursting at the seams with extremely exciting and highly creative projects.

Ranging from all-time classics like Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” and “Mozart’s Requiem;” to the premieres of newly commissioned works; to visits by sensational soloists like Joshua Bell and Teng Li; to performances by non-classical stars like Buffy Sainte-Marie, Bernadette Peters & Asley MacIsaac; to Toy Story and Star Wars in the film series; and collaborations with the Calgary Folk Music Festival and the High Performance Rodeo, it’s kind of mind-blowing!

CPO’s Music Director, Rune Bergmann, recently joined Grant Stovel on Alberta Morning to discuss this further from his socially-distanced home in Norway.
