Well, it has been 18 years as a band and still Scotland's
beloved "DOGS" continue their journey of bringing
their wonderful brand of Scots music to the world. Wherever
Yet May Be is their tenth studio album and was recorded
at Gran's House Studio in Lamington, Scotland.
The line-up of this band has changed over the years, but with
each change comes a new richness to their sound. The choice
of material on this disc is a treasure trove of Scottish music,
featuring songs by the Late Davy Steele "Scotland Yet"
and Andy M. Stewart, "Where Are You?" as well as
six new pieces by the band and some traditional and contemporary
tunes and melodies by Gordon Duncan, Fred Morrison and Jamie
Smith, to name but a few.
The current line-up of the Old Blind Dogs is Ali Hutton (pipes,
whistles and acoustic guitars), Aaron Jones (bouzouki and
vocals), Jonny Hardie (fiddles and guitars), and Fraser Stone
(percussion). Together they make the magic happen. This is
another wee bit of magic from Compass Records and it goes
a long way to boosting their already magnificent catalogue
of Celtic Music.
So, as always, if you like to feel those wee toes tapping
and a teary eyed ballad to have a Celtic Cuddle with, then
this is a CD to have in your collection. A Wee Smasher!
